This is a live studio recording from the band recorded sometime in the early 1980s at a studio in the Cincinnati area called The Forum. There are no overdubs on this recording. These tracks showcase Spike's great abilities as a live band. We were pleasantly surprised to find these long lost tracks and the quality of the recordings. These tracks have been remastered in 2001 to bring up the levels to current standards.

It is easy to see why Spike was such a fan favorite at the time. The blazing guitar work of David T. Chastain and the brilliant vocals of Stephen Fredrick was a match made in rock heaven. The rhythm section of drummer Les Sharp and bassist Denny Kuller added just the right foundation for David and Stephen to punctuate the music.

This particular line up of Spike dissolved in 1982 for numerous reasons. The band continued on for a short time, again as a power trio, with Denny also doing most of the lead vocals. In 1983 Mike Skimmerhorn joined the band and they recorded the album "The Price of Pleasure." The band broke up in the fall of 1984 as David went on to form CJSS and CHASTAIN. Currently this Cd is sold out!
